The annual arts and cultural festival in the Capital city of Abu Dhabi commenced on Thursday with a sterling performance rendered by the Korean ballet, Giselle.
The event is in its 16th edition and will showcase over 100 events, 18 productions and two commissions that will be spread out across 25 venues.
Moreover, there is an exciting flurry of activities that include concerts, performances and much more during the first week of the event. There will be stirring performances by leading artists in the domain of opera, ballet and music.
The event that is expected to run on for a month is centered around the Republic of Korea that has been conferred the previlege of being “Country of honour”. The theme of the event is ‘Culture of Determination’, a reminder that echoes the spirit of the upcoming Special Olympics World Games scheduled to be held in Abu Dhabi soon.
The event will witness participation by over 500 international artists representing around 17 countries. On March 11, internationally acclaimed American jazz pianist, Quincy Jones, and artist Justin Kauflin will perform a concert at The Arts Centre in NYU Abu Dhabi.
