GEMS education has launched an initiative targeting students who are academically gifted and are attending studies at some of the highly distinguished educational institutions across the world. The scholarship programme is for the academic year 2019-2020 and will comprise of 10 scholarships valued at more than Dh 4.7 million for the benefit of students attending studies at one of 10 selected universities.
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of one per university and will accommodate the tuition fees for the degree courses that stretch up to a year. The universities include Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, Harvard University, Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, Australian National University, McGill University, and University of Melbourne.
The founder of GEMS Education, Sunny Varkey, said that the initiative has been launched to offer bright students the opportunity to study at world class universities. Moreover, he added that the institution is keen on supporting students both during and after their tenure at GEMS and it also complies with their mission of making every child able to pursue quality education.
