Abu Dhabi City Municipality slaughterhouses have announced flexible opening hours to meet the public’s needs during Ramadan season. All slaughterhouses will operate from 6 am to 6 pm daily during the holy month. Abu Dhabi Public Slaughter House and its slaughterhouses in Bani Yas and Al Shahama will operate during night shifts as well from 10 pm to 1.30 am. The slaughterhouses follow strict measures and rigorous inspections of all animals received, including veterinary examinations before and after the slaughtering process.
The Municipality anticipates an increase in demand for slaughtering services and is deploying additional butchers and vets in its slaughterhouses across the emirate to meet the requirements. New precautionary measures have been taken including the provision of equipment for vaccinating sheep against external parasites before entering livestock markets in order to ensure the highest levels of health and food specifications of the products.
