An Artificial Intelligence camp conducted in the UAE as part of the country’s strategy to promote AI, has seen active participation from Emiratis who are keen to explore opportunities in the field. The camp was launched in October 2017 and comprises of programmes that are aimed at nurturing the skills in young people and government employees.
According to the state news agency Wam, more than 5000 people are expected to participate in the camp directly or indirectly through related programmes. The initial phase of the camp was hosted by The Youth Hub and Dubai Future Accelerators.
The Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Omar Al Olama, said that the UAE was at the forefront in revolutionizing the use of AI to build a better and more sustainable future. He also added that the AI camp was an avenue that promoted development among the youth and essentially was a manifestation of the cooperative efforts between the government, private and educational sectors to promote the constructive use of AI.
