Authorities in the UAE have made the rules that are in place for hiring teachers even more stringent in a bid to boost the quotient of safety for children in the country. All teachers applying for teaching positions in the country will now have to equip themselves with a good conduct certificate failing which their license will get rejected.
The certificate will have to be issued from the Police of the country that the applicant last held a teaching position in. Teachers who are presently employed in UAE schools will also have to comply with the latest rules. Moreover, the teaching license and permit will have to be renewed after a duration of every three years.
The teaching rules are different in each Emirate, depending on which an applicant may need a teacher’s license and a teaching permit. For example, if you are applying for a teaching position in Dubai, a permit issued by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) and a license from the Ministry of Education (MoE) is vital. Authorities are of the opinion that these rules and regulations are in place to essentially ensure the safety of children by making sure that the applicant does not have a criminal background.
There are many aspects that are crucial in getting a teacher’s permit including language proficiency, teaching certifications, MoE teaching license and subject knowledge, among others.
