In a move that bespeaks the spirit of the Year of Zayed and also complies with the special ‘Shifa’a’ initiative, the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) has made a substantial donation to the development of the health care sector in Dubai. The amount of Dh 400,000 was donated to the Ministry of Health and Prevention while the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) received Dh 450,000.
The donations would serve a range of developmental purposes in the health care sector such as the procuring of state-of-the-art medical equipment that would cater to the needs of patients, particularly in radiography and diagnosis. The DHA meanwhile, has earmarked the donated amount for the Cancer Patient fund that would go a long way in helping patients afford the cost of treatment.
The secretary general of AMAF, Ali Al Mutawa, hailed the efforts and success of the Dubai Health Authority and the Ministry of Health and Prevention in boosting the standards of health care. He emphasized on the importance of cooperation between institutions to improvise on all aspects of health care.
