AMF to attract huge participation as focus dwells on the future

The Arab Media Forum (AMF) is scheduled to be held in its 18th edition at the Dubai World Trade Centre from March 27-28.

The AMF will be held this year under the theme “From now to the future’, as affirmed by Mona Ganem Al Merri, President of the Dubai Press Club. The event will be held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The AMF is one of the most important media events held in the Middle East and is expected to witness attendance by over 3000 media personalities from the regional and international domains, media experts, writers and other prominent individuals who will congregate to exchange and discuss ideas and information on developing the sector.

The theme this year has been carefully chosen to reflect on the existing practices prevalent in the media and the impact of international and regional events on it, particularly with regard to media values like impartial reporting and maintaining objectivity in the news.

Al Merri is also the Chairperson of the forum’s organising committee. She said,  “We selected this theme to highlight the state of the Arab media and its role in understanding the people’s needs and responding to their future aspirations.”
