The contributions and role of Emirati women in promoting national development will be in focus as the UAE is all set to celebrate the Emirati Women’s Day on August 28. The celebrations for the event will be under the theme ‘Women on the Course of Zayed’. The occasion will also fall on the same day that the President Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan declares 2018 as the Year of Zayed.
The event is in line with the Year of Zayed and is a testament to the vision of the late Founding Father who underscored the importance of women and their role in nation building. The Founding Father once famously proclaimed, “Nothing makes me happier than seeing women take their exceptional role in society, and nothing must obstruct their advancement.”
The leadership of the country is highly vociferous in supporting women’s empowerment and keenly support the active involvement of women in society. Moreover, Emirati women have always found enthusiastic advocates in the rulers including President Shaikh Khalifa; His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and the Rulers of the Emirates
