As part of its efforts to promote child welfare, the UAE has launched a Child Digital Safety campaign that is aimed at making children more aware about how to safely navigate the internet without falling prey to any potential hazards.
The programme is also designed to educate parents and teachers on the possible solutions that would be viable enough to address the challenges. The measure was launched to coincide with Emirati Children’s Day which fell on March 15. The programme is expected to herald a generation that is well equipped to handle the internet with finesse.
The programme comprises four primary tenets that are an Interactive Children’s Camp; Digital Wellbeing Portal; Training Workshops; and a Support Platform that will cater to questions and queries from parents who face a challenge. The measure is a result of the joint cooperation undertaken by the Ministry of Interior and the National Programme for Happiness and Well-being.
