Many cities in the Middle East are on the path to bringing alternative fuels to the mainstream. With their recent initiatives, Abu Dhabi seems to be well ahead in the quest. Since 2010, more than 6000 vehicles have been converted to use CNG here. Taxis and government vehicles are being converted in the first phase. It is only petrol vehicles that have been converted so far as diesel vehicles will join the initiative soon.
Works for Emirates Transport will be done at the Abu Dhabi technical service center. According to experts, using CNG instead of petrol will result in 40% less costs for the user.
