In a move that is aimed at futuristic developments in the UAE, the British University in Dubai has announced the start of a bachelor’s programme in Artificial Intelligence, the first ever of its kind in the region. The degree programme is part of an initiative that promotes an ultramodern future that bases its innovativeness on concepts like Artificial Intelligence. The programme is open to all Emiratis and foreign students and is a result of a partnership with Edinburgh University.
The four-year programme is expected to commence at the end of September this year and will involve tuition fees up to a tune of Dh 230,000. Deserving students can apply for scholarships that will be set up by the university. Emirati students can avail themselves of scholarships from the ICT fund. The university said that since Artificial Intelligence is making a significant impact in current times, it makes sense to introduce a programme that is well armed to educate students on the same.
Recent months have seen a spate of activities in the UAE that were devoted to the pursuit of futuristic concepts like Artificial intelligence. An Artificial Intelligence summer camp was also conducted in Dubai that saw a great number of participation. The government is also fully supportive of the ability of AI to improve the quality of human lives.
