Number of people who are health conscious and wants to look and feel healthy are rising in UAE. The fitness sector is robust as demand for gym memberships and services are at an all-time high, reports Khaleejtimes.
Major reason behind this change is thought to be health awareness and fitness related content on social media.
Experts say people of different age group, culture are hitting fitness studios like never before and with more and more image conscious people on the rise the fitness sector is definitely here to stay.
Government initiatives such as the ’30:30 Fitness Challenge’ introduced by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, have had strong influence among residents.
According to Bayt.com’s ‘Health and Lifestyle in the Middle East and North Africa’ poll, 96 per cent of polled respondents in the Middle East and North Africa region believe it is the employer’s responsibility to support and promote their employees’ health and wellness. Also, over 87 per cent of respondents claimed they will more likely exercise if their company offers a gym subscription. However, only 30 per cent said their companies provide fitness facilities or benefits to encourage a healthy lifestyle.
