Dubai Commercity to be a regional first

Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, laid the foundation stone for the Dubai Commercity.

The projet that is being initiated at a cost 0f Dh4.3 billion, will see the establishment of the first regional e-commerce free zone in the region. The Commmercity is expected to further cement the position of Dubai in the context of global trade.

The construction of the e-commerce free zone has been undertaken by the Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority (DAFZA) in collaborative partnership with the Wasl Asset Management Group, in Umm Ramool.

The project is anticipated to be inducted in two phases, the first of which is projected to attain completion by 2020, while the second phase may be functional by 2021. Also present during the stone laying ceremong were Dr. Mohammad Al Zarouni, Director General of JAFZA, and Hesham Abdullah Al Qassim, CEO of Al Wasl Group.
