In an announcement, Emaar Properties and Dubai Holding have unveiled news about the launch of a massive new retail metropolis in the Dubai Creek Harbour. Christened the Dubai Square, the retail area will be spread across 8 million sq ft of retail space that includes 750,000 square metres of gross floor retail space and 2.6 m square metre of retail, hospitality and residential districts. Expected to be located next to the Dubai Creek Tower, the Dubai Square will be connected to the former through an underground pathway.
Dubai Square promises to be an eclectic delight to customers with three expansive levels catering to various shopping experiences. The visual aspects will comprise glazed roofs, skylights and shop front windows. The square will also integrate a fair element of greenery and lavish landscaping that will provide a refreshing backdrop to the décor. Moreover, LED technology will be pragmatically utilized to provide customers a seamless and visually delightful experience.
The Chairman of Emaar Properties, Mohamed Alabbar, said that the new launch was part of a more extensive strategy that incorporated the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to cement the position of Dubai as a smart city that has a global outreach. He added that Dubai Square is a viable step in propelling Dubai to the top in the global retail sector.
