Dubai Police and Emaar sign deal to set up smart police stations

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Dubai Police and Emaar Properties that will see the establishment of smart police stations at Emaar projects. The deal is part of a broader strategy to provide security services to the owners and residents without the need for actual human presence. The first smart police station to be set up as part of the deal will be at Arabian ranchers and will be equipped with a convenient walk-in system.

The agreement that was signed on Wednesday saw Brigadier Khalid Nasser Al Razooqi, director of Artificial Intelligence Department of Dubai Police who represented the Dubai Police and Ahmad Thani Al Matroushi, managing director of Emaar Properties. The walk-in station is expected to be functional 24/7 and will aim to provide members of the public with smart services.

The walk-in station will additionally be free from the human element and will offer services that range from reporting crimes and incidents to community service. The services also have the added advantage of being accessible in six languages thus being conducive for use by a large cross-section of society.
