On what would set the stage for the establishment of school fees for the imminent academic year, authorities announced that the ratings for private schools in Dubai would be released today.
In March, the authorities had announced that private schools had to limit the hiking of fees to not more than 4.14%. However, depending on the rating assigned to the individual schools, they can raise the fees from 2.07% to 4.14%. This would depend on the ratings that swing from ‘very weak’, ‘weak’, ‘acceptable’, ‘good’, ‘very good’, to ‘outstanding’.
The schools that will have a rating, which is lower than the previous year will not be eligible for a fee hike. Meanwhile, some schools have announced that would not be proceeding with hikes in the fees.
With the academic year starting in September, parents will now get a fairly realistic idea of how much the new session pricing structure would entail.
