The wait time that commuters have to endure at busy venues in Dubai will now be drastically cut thanks to a smart time management system launched by the Road Transport Authority (RTA).
The system that will be introduced at busy areas like malls, exhibitions and conferences will involve the use of cameras and other monitoring devices that will seek to cut down the waiting time of commuters waiting for taxis.
The monitoring devices will enable the authorities to ascertain the situation at the busy areas and bring in more taxis in case the need arises. In addition, the passengers will be able to access information on the number of available taxis and the estimated wait time.
The system was introduced in its pilot phase at the Dubai mall and the Dubai World Trade Centre where it proved to be successful in boosting taxi services.
