The Latifa Hospital, Dubai’s largest and most long standing maternity hospital is all set to undergo extensive expansion plans as part of a Dh 100 million project. The project that will enable the Latifa Hospital to double its capacity is due for completion of its initial phase in September next year. The final renovations of the hospital, which is the busiest in Dubai, are expected to be in place by March 2020.
Ongoing renovation work is already in full swing and will equip the hospital to deal with almost 60,000 patients after the finishing touches of the project are in place. The initial phase will see the expansion of the labor and delivery suite, following which the emergency service will be upgraded. Additionally, two additional operating theatres will also be added to the existing four.
The project emphasizes an ambitious plan that will boost the safety, efficiency and accessibility of services provided in the hospital. Moreover, the expansion plans will not just increase the patient capacity, but will also improve the general quality of care and will cut down on patient transfers from one place to another.
