As the 12th edition of the Khalifa Award for Education was unveiled in the capital city of Abu Dhabi, around 28 educators and institutions, representing the Arab world were honored for their efforts. The event was held in the emirate on Monday.
The winners won an accumulated sum of Dh 2.5 million and hailed from domains such as excellence in Arabic language teaching, higher education, educational authoring and the teaching of individuals who have special needs.
The Educational Personality of Year award was conferred on Shaikha Azza Al Nuaimi, general manager of Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Charitable Foundation.
Apart from educators, honors were also presented to four Emirati families who were acknowledged for promoting awareness on higher levels of education and knowledge through the UAE.
The ceremony that was held at the Emirates palace, was attended by Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Shaikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, UAE Minister for Tolerance, and other dignitaries.
