Now Emiratis wishing to obtain an international driving license can do so through a smart service that has been launched by the Ministry of Interior in a collaborative venture with the Automobile & Touring Club of the UAE. The smart service is being promoted via the app MOI UAE and the ministry’s website and is part of the initiative of the UAE smart government vision 2021 that aims to propel the country to new levels and make it the pioneer in social and economic development.
This partnership will also allow the ministry to boost customer satisfaction and drastically cut down on the time taken to carry out the service. The rights of issuing the international driving license have been exclusively awarded to the Automobile & Touring Club of the UAE. The chairman of the MoI Smart Services and Artificial Intelligence Council and Director General of electronic services and communications head of the MoI Smart Services Artificial Intelligence Council, Brigadier General Hussain Ahmad Al Harthy, said that this latest service will certainly comply with the country’s vision of adapting to emerging developments in technology.
