Emirates to cut down flights in wake of DXB renovation

In the wake of the closure of the southern runway of the Dubai International Airport, Emirates Airlines has announced that it will be cutting down on the frequency of flights to several destinations across Asia, Europe and the Middle east, from today.

The airline has taken the decision to nullify the impact from the closure of the southern runway. Accordingly, the airline will be revoking around 135 flights or frequencies on a weekly basis since they can operate only on a single landing strip.

The flights that have been scrapped include destinations in United Kingdom, Bangladesh, Egypt, Jordan, Switzerland, Spain and Denmark, and several others. Starting today, DXB’s southern runway will shut until May 30, leaving only one runway operational.
