Emirati astronaut expected to be space bound by September

 

If reports emanating from the Russian media are anything to go by, the first astronaut who proudly represents the UAE, will expectedly be launched into space on September 25. This will kick start an eight-day mission at the International Space Station.
The astronaus will be onboard the Soyz MS-15 mission. The Emirati astronauts, Hazza Al Mansoori and Sultan Al Neyadi, who shot into fame for achieving the distinction of being the first astronauts from the country, are presently in Russia, undergoing training for the upcoming mission. However, only one of them will go into space, the name of who will be revealed next week during a press conference.
Although the initial launch date was set at April 5, it was posponed in the wake of  a botched attempt by the Soyuz MS-10 to enter space. Russian media, Sputnik, has reportedly said that the Emirati astronaut will be on the mission from September 25 to October 3. More details on the launch are expected to emerge from the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre on February 25.
