Environment-friendly city civil defence centre to be developed by 2019
An environment-friendly project being developed at a cost of Dh 13 million will see the installation of a City Civil Defence Centre. The project is being initiated by the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and is in line with the latest global standards.
The manager of engineering procurement, Eman Al Mansouri, has said that sustainability was a key consideration in the plans for implementation of the project. She said that the use of LED power-saving bulbs will be encouraged in order to save electricity consumption while there will be regular consumption reports generated on a monthly and annual basis.
Furthermore, solar pipes will be utilized to cater to natural lighting. Air ventilation and optimum water utilization will be facilitated by the latest mechanical systems. Additionally, there will be a treatment center that will be established to treat sewage water and will be useful in rerouting the water for agricultural and irrigation purposes.
