This morning witnessed several parts of the UAE getting inundated by thunder, hail and heavy rain as reports from the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCM) emanate. Parts of Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi were in the grip of moderate to heavy rainfall.
The NCM has predicted that heavy rain could be expected over the next couple of days. They also cautioned people venturing out to sea to exercise vigilance and to be on their guard. The NCM attributes it to the building of strong northwesterly winds.
Yesterday morning brought about thick fog that caused traffis mishaps, heavy snarls, and even the disruption of some flights. Visibility conditions had dropped to as low as 200 metres and had a rather large impact on the traffic in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah.
