A cultural extravaganza has unfolded in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah that will be a collage of art works much to the delight of art lovers across the nation. The seventh edition of the Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival (RAKFAF) was thrown open to the public on Thursday.
The cultural event was kick started with a red carpet event that was attended by His Highness Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah. Also in attendance for the event were VIPs, artists, collectors and art lovers. The event is being conducted in the backdrop of the Al Jazira Al Hamra’s Old Town.
The event will also showcase the artistic excellence of over 60 artists including artists from regional and international domains. The festival will be running on till February 28. This will also include an outdoor art exhibition that will last till April 20.
The workshops, films and sculptures will be located at the National Museum. The museum is renowned as the home where Shaikh Saud grew up. The cultural event is an event initiated by the Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research.
