For a week that will start from October 21, around 100 service centres belonging to 40 governmnet entities will go out of operation. However, their services can be accessed online, as part of a campaign that was initiated to complete the smart transformation goals by 2021. The campaign will end on October 25.
A huge cross-government measure to promote a trend of smart transformation in delivering government services online is being carried out by Dubai Government’s Department of Finance (DOF). This was announced by the Dubai Media Office.
The ‘Week without Service Centres’ initiative in Dubai will witness a digitalization of government services to smart channels. This campaign was launched in 2017 after it was sanctioned by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Residents in Dubai have hailed the venture and look forward to the benefits of digitalization. Moreover, the initiative has also been recognized for its potential in reducing traffic snarls, saving time and money, the saving of energy and much more. Some of the government entities that are part of the initiative are Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Dubai Airports, Dubai Civil Defense, Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Service, Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University, Jafza, Knowledge and Human Development Authority, Legal Affairs Department, Road and Transport Authority and Smart Dubai.
