The Dubai Health Authority has announced the set up of a new gender task force that would go a long way in ensuring that men and women in the emirate will receive the care that is customised to their specific needs. The DHA said that the measure is indicative of its desire to establish a gender balance committee that will be instrumental in developing care for both genders.
Moreover, the task force will also review the ratio of health workers to females in the medical fields. based on the reviews, the task force will decide if there is a need to introduce reforms and improvements to urge greater participation by either gender. As of now, the number of female health professionals outnumber men by almost double the number.
The DHA made this announcemnet at a press conference and said that a two-day Dubai Health Forum would be underway on January 21. The task force will consider the distinct needs of both genders and gauge their care requirements, for instance, maternity care for women or prostrate cancer in men. Moreover, the committee will be looking at key performance indicators that are globally acknowledged. New measures will be launched commensurate with the resuts of the findings and will deal with any potential loopholes in healthcare for men and women.
