Good conduct certificate not mandatory for UAE residents to switch jobs

Residents of the UAE are not required to produce a good conduct certificate when they’re changing jobs, clarified the General Directorate of Residence and Foreigners’ Affairs (GDRFA). For them, it is not a ‘mandatory document’ when they apply for a visa if they are already in the UAE.

However, for those from outside the country, seeking employment in the UAE will need to produce the good conduct certificate for their visas to be processed, GDRFA added. Prior this week, MoHRE had suspended the prerequisite for good conduct certificate until June 2018 for new Filipino and Indonesian domestic workers.
