Heavy rain and hail have been lashing several parts of the UAE since yesterday. Reports on rain and hail and inundations have been reported from all over the country. The heavy rain caused the Wadi Al Helou road to be shut down. The road essentially connects the cities of Kalba and Sharjah. Sharjah was hot by moderate to heavy rains on Tuesday.
The route was closed down in both directions following the heavy showers. Authorities have cautioned motorists to exercise vigilance while driving on the road, especially since slippery conditions have aggravated. Motorists should take alternate, safer routes when possible.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued weather warnings over the last few days pointing to the possibility of heavy showers. In the eastern parts of the UAE, flood waters and hail stones have inundated parts of the Wadi Qur.
