The weekend will see yet another hot spell as the temperatures are expected to soar across the country. Some areas saw a high of 50 degrees yesterday contributing to heightened levels of humidity.
The highest recorded temperature was 48.6 degrees in Mezaira in Al Dhafra, near the Saudi Arabian border. Humidity levels in Ruwais reached a whopping 100 per cent because of the mercury soaring.
According to weather predictions, temperatures today will reach a high of 42 degrees though it may feel much warmer. The eastern areas may see the buildup of clouds while there will be the usual wind activity ranging from light to moderate. The winds may cause billowing dust at times.
The wind speed is projected to be from 15 to 25 kph and will certainly be a respite from the blistering heat.
