The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Health Authority (DHA) have launched an innovative collaboration which will enable expat employees in the RTA to undergo the medical tests to comply with visa regulations. This will enable them to conveniently carry out all the tests without having to waste valuable time and energy queuing up at the health centres.
The measure forms part of a larger strategy of the DHA’s Tawajud initiative that is designed to ease the professional lives of employees. The very fact that the RTA has joined hands with the DHA for this initiative is indicative of its deep desire to save employees the inconvenience of having to undergo the mandatory medical tests at the external centres. Consequently, expat employees of the RTA can simply present themselves at the RTA clinic where the DHA’s medical teams will carry out the prescribed tests. After the completion of the tests, an electronic notification validates the test results and thus helps the employee proceed further for other visa renewal formalities.
This joint venture is also perceived to be aimed at integrating corporate services with government organisations in the city. Moreover, it is also in line with the vision of the leaders of the UAE who envisage a business model between government organisations that would be in harmony with their respective goals.
