About 100 Arab youth were roped in as part of a training programme launched by the Arab Youth Centre (ARC) designed to equip them to establish themselves as media professionals. The government-led venture also involved field trips to accredited media houses so that the youth could gain insightful knowledge and also see first-hand how common media practices are carried out.
The programme is a two-week intensive session that will also see interactions with media experts from various academic and broadcasting domains. As part of the second edition of the Young Arab Media Leaders programme, youth drawn from over 18 Arab countries will be given the exiting opportunity to nurture their skills and get introduced to emerging trends in the field.
The programme that is backed by leading news organizations, will see several seminars, workshops, and also specialized courses in traditional and digital media. The programme aims to emphasize on creative writing, communication methods and thinking out of the box, since journalism now is much more than just the mere reporting of facts.
