Instagrammers were in for a surprise when Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, posted a number of videos and pictures that show him swimming around with giant sharks. Calling it a “truly breathtaking experience, Shaikh Hamdan garnered a massive audience on Instagaram for his brave feat.
The official Instagram handle of the Crown prince, @faz3, elicited envious reactions from viewers who commended the prince on his brace act of swimming with the fearsome predators. His one-minute long video instantly went viral and gained 50,000 views in less than an hour. The video shows the Crown prince swimming amongst the sharks that are seen going about their business in a relaxed manner. These fish are usually endemic to the Faroe Islands, located halfway between Norway and Iceland.
Sheikh Hamdam, who received thousands of comments on his post further added that the giant sharks were worthy of respect and the more people would interact with them, the more insights they would get about their true nature. Whale sharks can grow up to massive lengths of 40 feet and above and are found in deep waters thus making an encounter with them that much more priceless.
