In a first with regard to the region, the Abu Dhabi Airports and Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha) have announced the introduction of “isolation rooms” that will function at the Abu Dhabi International Airport.
The rooms are located at the area in Terminal 1 and will be for the benefit of passengers who are allegedly harbouring a communicable or contagious disease. This will not only ensure that the other passengers are safe but will also keep the suspected passengers in a quarantined state till medical help arrives.
The isolation rooms include standalone systems that are compatible with the guidelines imposed by seha and the Department of Health. Ahmad Juma Al Shamsi, Acting Chief Operations Officer at Abu Dhabi Airports, said that the new measure will enable the authorities to provide healthcare that reflects global standards. The facility and infrastructure have been designed by Seha to comply with the latest international specifications.
