If you are free this weekend and interested in contributing to charitable causes, it is the perfect chance to take part in an event that espouses exactly that.
A walkathon that will stretch for 2 km will be held this Friday at the Dubai Design District. The walkathon entitled ” We walk’ is being conducted by the Tecom Group in coordination with the Dubai Autism Centre.
If you want to be part of the walkathon that is being dedicated to autistic children, be informed that the walk will commence at 7.30 am sharp at The Block in D3. The entry fee is Dh50, with the proceeds from the race directly benifiting the Dubai Autism Centre.
The Dubai Autism Centre is a non-profit organisation that has been established with the motive of helping autistic children in the UAE. There will also be a raffle organised during the event, with the funds again going to the charitable organisation. The walkathon is being organised to spread awareness about autism, a condition that is estimated to strike one in 59 children, as the latest statistics reveal. For more information on the event, log on to www.wewalk.ae. Entry to the event is free for children aged four and under.
