In a visit that is primarily aimed to raise further funds for the flood-ravaged state of Kerala and to help with rehabilitation and rebuilding, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is scheduled to land at Abu Dhabi Airport on Wednesday morning. The CM will be meeting prominent Indian expats and seeking their help to contribute to the cause of rebuilding the state.
The CM will also be speaking at a public forum at the India Social and Cultural Centre (ISC). The gathering will commence at 7 pm on Thursday and is expected to be attended by over 2000 people. The UAE minister of tolerance, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, will grace the occasion as the chief guest.
The CM will first attend a dinner that is being organized by the IBPG (Indian Business and Professional Group) tomorrow evening at the Dusit Thani Hotel in the capital city. Mr Vijayan will be presenting a proposal that focuses on redevelopment projects and will subsequently urge the expat community to bring in more investments. The President of Kerala Social Centre, A. K Beeran Kutty, said that the organization will be arranging four buses for the benefit of people who would like to attend the event.
