Khalifa Foundation to assist flood-ravaged Kerala

The natural disaster that has struck Kerala has prompted organizations and individuals in the UAE to mobilize support for the stricken victims. The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has spearheaded a relief campaign that will provide much needed assistance to the people of Kerala.

The flash floods have wreaked havoc on the south Indian state and brought about a fresh humanitarian crisis that is likely to linger in the weeks to come. The Khalifa Foundation has launched the initiative to help with efforts being carried out to smoothen the disastrous impact of the floods.

The campaign oversees the setting up of a national emergency committee to provide an impetus for the relief and rescue operations being carried out in Kerala, and follows the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
