KwB’s ‘Take a Book, Leave a Book’ initiative to promote knowledge sharing within the community

Knowledge without Borders (KwB), a Sharjah-based cultural initiative, has announced the launch of its ‘Take a Book, Leave a Book’ campaign to promote knowledge sharing, entertainment and cultural experiences among members of the UAE community. As part of the initiative, ‘book boxes’ will be installed in four regions in Sharjah; Al Shuwaiheen, Al Rahmaniyah, Al Qarain Walkway and near Green Belt Park to encourage visitors to take a book from the box and exchange it with another. In the near future, the initiative will be expanded to new areas in the emirate to offer more residents the chance to share their books with each other in an easy and innovative way.

The exchange of knowledge is the basic aim behind the idea of the initiative and the boxes contain a wide range of subjects including children’s literature, science, culture, fiction and non-fiction, technology, history, archaeology, nutrition, cooking, poetry and education. Books will periodically be changed by KwB. Beneficiaries of KwB’s 42,366 Home Libraries initiative, each containing 50 books, can also refresh their libraries by choosing new books.
