Lit Fest to kick off in Dubai

As the 11th edition of the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature is all set to commence in Dubai from March 1, the event promises to be a literary minefield.

The Lit Fest will run on for a period of nine days and will be an avenue that will see over 170 prominent regional and international authors participating in the event. People of all age groups will have something that appeals to their literary imagination.

The festival is being held under the theme ‘United by words’, and will cover a massive genre of literature, including fiction, non-fiction, children’s books and much more. There will be both free and paid programmes that will cater to people with varying intersts.

Some of the famous authors participating in the event include Jane Hawking, wife of the Late Stephen Hawking, Chris Gardner, the real life protaganist of the film “The Pursuit of Happyness”, Saud Al Sanousi, Jeff Kinney of Wimpy Kids fame and renowned crime novelist, Ian Rankin.

Also part of the festival are eminent Emirati authors and celebrities such as Roudha Al Merri, Khaled Al Jaber, Ibrahim Al Marzouqi, Afra Atiq, Hessa Al Muhairi and several other prominent names.
