M.A. Yusuff Ali, CMD of LuLu Group is ranked 388 in the Forbes magazine’s 2018 list of billionaires, with a net worth of $5 billion which makes him richer than US president Donald Trump, whose wealth is estimated at $3.1 billion. UAE-based businessman, M.A. Yusuff Ali is the 19th richest man in India and the richest Malayali, according to the magazine.
Trump’s ranking on the list fell to 766th place from the previous 544th in the last year as his net worth is $400 million less than last year. There are now a record 2,208 billionaires in the world according to Forbes magazine’s annual billionaires’ list and their combined worth is $9.1 trillion, up by 18 percent from last year, out of which $22.7 billion (Dh83.3 billion) is owned by seven Indian billionaires in the UAE alone. India has an aggregate of 121 billionaires (19 more than last year) which makes them the third largest group of the ultra-rich after the US and China.
