In an inventive measure that is aimed at encouraging employees to lose a few inches around the waist and shed the flab, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has initiated the launch of a ‘Lose to win’ programme.
The programme is mainly targeted at employees who are considered to be on the undesirable end of the weight spectrum and will encourage them to inculcate healthy habits into their daily regimen.
The programme encourages people with weight management issues to make some vital changes in their lifestyles that would set them on the path to a fitter body and healthy mind. The aspects of the programme include the introduction of a balanced diet, regular physical activity and a non-sedentary lifestyle that would help employees lose weight within a timeframe of two months.
The programme also nurtures a full time staff of nutritionists and health educators from the Health and Education Department of the ministry. Workshops and awareness programmes will also be held as part of the programme.
