Now switch to smart cards for bus travel in Al Ain and Al Dhafra

The administration has scrapped the use of bus paper tickets in Al Ain city and Al Dhafra. The new rules will be applicable by the end of this month. The Department of Transport has announced that from September 30, commuters using bus services will be able to do so with the use of the Hafilat smart cards.

The Hafilat smart cards are up for purchase at all the bus stations in Al Ain city and Al Dhafra. Moreover, you can also buy them at ticket offices and vending machines. The authorities at the department of transport have said that the measure comes amidst efforts to boost the quality of service being offered to passengers,

Halifat which literally translated in Arabic means smart cards, replaced the conventional coin boxes from 2015 and were instrumental in revamping the fare collection system. It was in Abu Dhabi that the automated fare collection system was initially introduced.
