If you live in the Sultanate of Oman and are planning to visit the UAE, this would be the ideal time to plan a trip. Now, expats who reside in Oman can get a visa for visiting the UAE for as low as Dh 124 or 13 Omani riyals. According to new rules, expats can apply for a convenient 48 hour or 96 hour visa from Oman to the UAE. The former would set you back by 13 riyals while the latter costs 20 Omani riyals.
In case you intend to apply for the UAE visa, you can do so at any of the Emirates or FlyDubai offices in Oman. However, there are a few things to keep in mind. The 48 hour visa is exclusively for passengers who are transiting through UAE. They should have an onward ticket and a transit time that is at least 8 hours. Moreover, travellers should also carry a passport that is valid for at least 6 more months and should have proof of accommodation in the UAE.
Meanwhile, travellers wishing to acquire the 96-hour visa need not travel beyond the UAE. All they need to show is a ticket with Emirates or FlyDubai or a ticket for a connecting flight
