Despite contrary claims on social media, authorities at Dubai International Airport said that flight operations were continuing as usual. The Dubai Media Office took to their official Twitter handle and said that the airport certainly was not experiencing any operational interruptions as certain elements on social media claimed.
Flight tracking apps validated the normal operations at Dubai airport and showed that services were going on as usual. There was however, an average delay of five minutes for inbound flights and up to 39 minutes for outbound flights.
Social media was rife with rumors that the airport was targeted by Houthi rebels following which there were operational delays. The General Civil Aviation Authority also cleared the air and said that the UAE air traffic was operating under normal circumstances.
