The Barsha Height area which was earlier known as the Tecom will now have paid parking. This was evident from the signs that have been erected in the area. However, confirmation of the final dates when the paid parking will come into effect is yet to be announced by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
Meanwhile, the area has also been designated as an ‘A’ zone which essentially indicates that the parking fee will be Dh 4 per hour. The charges will be applicable from 8.00 am to 10.00 pm from Saturday to Thursday. Official holidays will be exempted.
The Barsha Heights area is the latest in a series of areas in the city that have come under the ambit of paid parking. The area is home to commercial buildings, residential complexes and service apartments.
