His Holiness Pope Francis will be visiting the United Arab Emirates in February 2019 at the invitation of H.H Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of UAE Armed Forces. The visit, scheduled to take place from 3rd to 5th February has been announced in Abu Dhabi and in the Vatican City, in Rome.
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, stressed the importance of the Pope’s visit and expressed the appreciation of the UAE government and people. The theme of the visit is ‘Make Me a Channel of Your Peace’ and Pope Francis’ acceptance of the UAE invitation strengthens the efforts for peaceful coexistence and will further promote interfaith dialogue.
