The UAE has been under the grip of rains, thunderstorms and flash floods since the last few days with several areas in the nation being inundated by floods and rain. However, the met department has predicted that soon the nation will witness partly cloudy skies and a significant rise in the mercury.
Ras Al Khaimah was witness to heavy rains on Sunday, with many residents being stranded in the valleys and mountains of the emirate, triggering authorities to launch rescue efforts. Almost 400 motorists had to be rescued by the RAK police in the wake of flash floods.
The highest recorded rainfall occurred in Wadi Shah with 118.mm. The met department attributed the instability in weather conditions to a surface trough of low pressure that was also accompanied by an upper air trough.
The National Centre of meteorology said that it expects the weather to clear, beginning today. However, the skies may still retain some lingering clouds and will usher in fair weather this whole week.
