Following a heavy dose of rain in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, several residents found themselves stranded in the valleys and mountains of the city, last night.
However, the RAK Police and its quick action team came to the rescue of the stranded residents. The people who were stuck in their vehicles were urged not to move until the storms died down.
Major General Ali Abdullah Bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, commander-in-chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police and Head of the Emergency and Crisis Management Team in RAK, said that his teams were fully involved in the rescue of the residents in cooperation with supporting teams from outside.
The RAK Police carried out the rescue efficiently, in addition to providing the trapped residents with food and other essential supplies. The General added that the local crisis and emergency team has teamed up with relevant authorities to help residents whose homes were inundated with flood waters. He said that the teams were on standby and competent enough to deal with any emerging situation.
