Road closures in UAE in view of cycling tour

Considering the upcoming UAE cycling tour, roads and routes across the UAE will face closures to facilitate the race. The race that is spread out across six days, is all set to unfold by the end of the current month.

The organisers said that the road closures will come into effect from February 25 to March 2, when the race is scheduled to be held. Motorists may have to face some inconvenience and choose alternate routes during these days. The event will see a huge number of professional cyclists participating in a 1090 km race that will cover all the seven emirates.

The race is expected to be held over a total of seven stages. The first stage that is anticipated to be held on February 24 will not trigger any road closures as it will be held on traffic-free cycle path loops.

The final stage will see the cyclists zooming through the streets of Dubai, from Safari Park to Citywalk. The cyclists will speed off from the Dubai Safari Park, meandering their way through Dubai Design District, Mushrif Park, Al Mamzar Beach, Deira, and Rashid Port, up until Jumeirah Road, finally finishing the 145 km race at Citywalk.
